President Opens Second Phase of New Delta Corridor in $250M Push

The project aims to cut travel time between Cairo and the Delta in half, part of the state's plan to upgrade the national road and regional-corridor network.

Transport ministry officials said the corridor's second phase spans 48 kilometers, including three overpasses and four service stations along the route.

The ministry said work has begun on the project's third and final phase, due for completion in the first quarter of next year.

The new corridor is expected to cut travel time between Cairo and Mansoura from two and a half hours to about 70 minutes, according to a technical study by the roads and bridges authority.
